Tyranid warriors - desert scheme III

I decided to paint up my next batch of retro Tyranids in the desert colour scheme I've been testing!

The three similar warriors are first edition, multipart plastic models, despite being amazingly ugly they're way ahead of their time in terms of size, complexity and material. When these guys were released the vast majority of all miniatures were metal. The heavy weapon warrior is from second edition and metal.

Designing the perfect battle board

I've recently moved and finally have the space to have a 40k battlefield (6 x 4 foot / 183 x 122 cm) but, like everyone, I have limited budget and not unlimited space plus I need to decide what features I want the most...

My Necromunda terrain. In my last place the floor often served as the gaming table!

Screamer Killer Carnifex - test desert scheme

Monkeying around with the Inquisition and Assassins

I've always found rag-tag bands of warriors far more interesting than the uniform rank and file of the military armies such as Space Marines or Imperial Guard (now Astra Militarum) or massed hordes of Orks. With The Inquisition I think I have found the middle ground I've been looking for with some added spice in the form of some Assassins...

Airbrushing for a beginner (me)

Some time ago I picked up an airbrush and compressor but, other than a couple of pieces of terrain, I haven't really experimented with it. So, let's see what it can do...

Assassins - Know your weapons

With the new 40k 7th edition Ally rules you could now include Assassins in any army. I've already heard of people making a Sneaky Gitz conversion for their Ork army and there's huge potential for a Daemonic, or perhaps even Tyranid, Assassin.
However, their unique toolbox of weaponry however can take a little bit of thought...

A classic assassin, painted in my youth. He's due a repaint!
